Ahhhhhh…..the
smell of beeswax in the morning!
What
an exciting medium to work with!
The
colours and textures are deliriously delicious and light comes
from within. The procedure of applying molten wax to various surfaces was
used by Egyptians more than 3000 years ago – the resulting
paintings of the mummies are there for us to admire in the
British
Museum
in
London
or in the
National
Museum,
Cairo
. So yes… they last!
Will
they melt? Put it this way… use
common sense. One never puts fine art in direct heat.
Pure beeswax has a melting point of 150°F /65.5°C. As
they say… if your house is over 150° you have bigger
problems!
AND….
as an extra precaution I protect them by having pieces
professionally framed. Enjoy!
